This Week at the EYC July 4-11
Before we get to this week’s activities at the EYC, ask yourself: “Am I hungry for great pizza?”
The Wild Tomato restaurant in Fish Creek will donate $1 to the EYC for every one of its “Donation Creation” pizzas sold in the whole month of July! This pizza features wood-fire roasted chicken; green and red peppers; caramelized onions; romano, asiago, parmesan and goat cheeses; sun-dried tomato and pepperoni sauce; and is drizzled with 25-year-old balsamic vinegar. A big thank-you to Wild Tomato owners Britt and Sara Unkefer, parent of EYC Student member Levi Unkefer.
The weather is warming up and the EYC has another busy week scheduled. In addition to the usual schedule of lessons, racing, bridge, bunco, and sunning and swimming, here’s what’s happening
This week’s WEDNESDAY JUNIOR ACTIVITY is bowling, pizza and soda at the Sister Bay Bowl. Please sign up at EYC if you plan to take part. Meet at 5:30 PM at the EYC; bring $10 cash to cover bowling, shoes, pizza and soda. We will bowl and eat from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Parents, please pick up your juniors at the EYC at 7:45 PM. This week’s THURSDAY TEEN ACTIVITY is a cookout at the EYC followed by volleyball. Meet at the EYC at 5:30 PM. Bring a dessert to share. The EYC will provide hot dogs. Then we will head to the volleyball courts (located on Hwy. A, about 2/3 mile south of Hwy. 42.) Pick up is at the volleyball courts at 8:00 PM. Questions? Contact Heather Anderson (847) 420-3978.
The EYC will offer YOGA CLASSES to members beginning Friday, July 8. Two Yoga classes will be taught by EYC member Lisa Gifford. Tuesdays from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM will be a gentle yoga class for beginning yoga students. Fridays from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM will be a faster-paced class for intermediate to advanced yoga students. These classes are free and open to all EYC members, but donations to the EYC are encouraged. All donations will be used to support the EYC’s sailing lesson scholarship program. Celebrate the EYC’s birthday at the FOUNDERS DAY COOKOUT at 6:00 PM on Friday, July 8! This is a family event, all ages invited. The EYC will provide cake and champagne. Bring something to grill, a side dish to share, and non-alcoholic beverages. Watch the FJ and Laser races and socialize with fellow EYC members! No dogs at this event, please. Questions? The OPTIMIST REGATTA is Sunday, July 10. Registration begins at 9:00 AM, the drawing for EYC members to use EYC-owned Optimists is at 9:45 AM, and racing begins at 11:00 AM. For more information see the Notice of Race located at www.eyc.org/racing.
Because of the Optimist Regatta, the LASER AND FLYING JUNIOR RACES normally scheduled for Sunday, July 10 will be held instead the afternoon of Saturday, July 9. The Optimist races normally scheduled for Saturday, July 9 will not be held. For more information see the Notice of Race located at www.eyc.org/racing.
