First Mate Position Vacant

We are looking for someone to lead First Mates.  The EYC First Mate overseas the clubs social calendar, hosts our First Mate meetings and coordinates the chairs of our events.  We use sign-up genius to register volunteers.  This is a two year role that follows the Commodore. The past First Mate, Jenny Miller, has already secured venues for this year’s events!  If you have an interest or questions please contact Laura O’Rourke 312-953-8320.

Blessing of the Fleet, Remembrance and Opening Social

On Saturday, June 11th, please join us for our Blessing of the Fleet on the dock at 5:30 p.m.  We will pay tribute to our departed members with a remembrance at 5:45 p.m.  The Opening Social will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wine, Beer and soft drinks will be served. Please bring an appetizer (serving 8-10) to share. This is an adult only event.

Let’s come together to kick-off the opening of our sailing season, greet old friends, make new friends and meet members of our  wonderful EYC summer staff.

Join us at the Fyr Bal Pancake Breakfast

Fyr Ball is back and the  EYC is also back to host the Pancake breakfast.  Come and eat, stay to volunteer.  The doors are open 8-10:30am on June 18th, with set up starting at 7am and clean up usually complete by 11am.  We are looking for volunteers to work in the kitchen (making coffee, mixing batter, cutting strawberries, etc), set & clear tables in Village Hall as diners come & go, grill sausages, flip pancakes, and take payment at the door.  Adults & kids are welcome to volunteer and eat!
