The winds were blowing out of the north for the Ephraim Yacht Club 2019 Laser Regatta. It was wonderful to have a group of Laser sailors from around Wisconsin to race in our regatta. Congratulations to all 12 Laser Racers. Top Honors: 1st Place- Dave Poquette from South Shore Yacht Club. 2nd Place- Michael Faugust from EYC. 3rd Place- Geoff Werner from EYC. Radial Fleet: 1st Place- Nick Mueller from EYC; 2nd Place- Henry Morof from EYC; 3rd Place- Olivia Annoye from EYC. Olivia was also the Top Female Skipper!
Congratulations to EYC Fleet 44 for winning the Midwest District trophy! Skipper Hugh Haggerty with crew Sarah Olson placed 1st. This is a repeat performance for Hugh having won 1st place previously. 2nd Place and Century Club Champions with combined skipper and crew age over 100, was awarded to Michael Faugust and Jennifer Ikeda Faugust. 3rd place award went to Cain Goettelman and Gordy Roberts. Great sweep EYC! Additionally, Sarah Olson received the Whippersnapper Award for being top finishing youngin! Way to go Sarah!
October in Door County continues to be cold and blustery. The sailing team tucked away the last of the equipment for the final closing of EYC. Thank you Hugh, Eric, Eliza, Rick and Jodi!
A big congratulations from the EYC Community to EYC members Hugh Haggerty and Allison Chase, who won the Glow in the Dark Regatta this weekend at Clinton Lake, IL! Ryan Malmgren and Stacey Rieu also represented the EYC at the regatta.

Saturday afternoon – Rich Hall Youth Regatta. the NOR and SI are now posted! This year’s regatta is a one day event. Skippers must be at least 12 years old but must not have reached their 18th birthday. Crew must not have reached their 18th birthday. Sunday – The Laser Regatta. This regatta is open to all ages. Full rig and radials will race together but be scored separately. We expect to have racers from other clubs so make sure to tune up between now and then. Register early and be sure to indicate if you intend to use full or radial. Saturday, June 9th, begins the summer racing season with the Flying Scot Fleet 44 meeting at 8:45am followed by Flying Scot Saturday series races at 10:00 am. See you there!
