Racing, Opening Social, Pancake Breakfast,and Fleet 44 Information

In the last few days, we have kicked off our EYC weekly race series on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday night.  We gathered as a community at Bunco, Bridge, Mahjongg and the Red Putter (Junior Activity).  We will continue with the EYC race series on Thursday and Friday nights (followed by potluck dinner on the dock).  See the racing page on our website for more information.

Opening Social- Saturday, June 14th 5:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m.

Adult members please join us on the dock Saturday, June 14th,  for our first social event of the 2025 season. The evening begins at 5:30 PM with the Blessing of the Fleet, followed by a special Remembrance of EYC members who have passed. The Social begins at 6:00 p.m.  Beer, wine, and sparkling wine provided. Please bring an appetizer (serving 12) to share.

Fyr Bal EYC Aaron R Moore Sailing Scholarship Pancake Breakfast– Saturday, June 21st 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

A note from Rob and Sherry:

Fyr Bal Saturday is only a week away! Kick off Fyr Bal by joining friends and family to support our annual Fyr Bal Pancake Breakfast at the Village Hall from 8-10 AM.  Our only scholarship fundraiser will be the fantastic Fyr Bal Pancake Breakfast!  After 12 years, we are not hosting our annual Aaron R Moore Scholarship Gala this year. The EYC  Gala this year will raise funds to purchase lifts for the EYC dock.

We look forward to seeing you at the best pancake breakfast in Door County! Pancakes, Sausages and strawberries…what could be better! We sold out last year, so come early! Flying Scot Fleet 44 Important Info

Flying Scot Fleet 44 Fleet Meeting Saturday Morning.  Fleet 44 will have its first fleet meeting of the year after racing on Saturday (rain or shine).  Please plan to attend.  If the weather is bad, we’ll meet at 10:00 a.m. (normal regular racing start time).  If anyone has items for the agenda, please contact Fleet Captain Nancy Claypool at [email protected].If you are interested in following our Flying Scot racing or want to create your own posts about FS racing, being able to crew or assist, please download the Team Reach App by following the instructions below.

EYC Gala- Help Give our Sailors a Daily Lift

Help Give Our Sailors a Daily “Lift”

Tickets are on sale now for the EYC summer Gala  on June 27th at About Thyme Farm from 6:30-11:30 p.m.

Our old boat lifts have served us well, but after countless seasons, they’re due for more than a facelift. This summer, we’re raising funds to purchase brand-new boat lifts—so our sailors and staff can launch and dock with ease and safety. Tickets are $150 per person. EYC Weekly Race Series begins Saturday, June 7th

There are five racing one-design classes at EYC, the Optimist dinghy, club 420, Laser, the RS Tera and the Flying Scot, and races are held twice a week for each boat class during our racing season.  On Saturday June 7th,  the Flying Scot series begins with the skipper’s meeting at 9 and racing starting at 10.

Racing is a great way to test and improve one’s sailing skills, while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow sailors. Most fleets have a fleet captain, who helps communicate and coordinate with the participants. See the page for each fleet for more information. Club races are open to EYC members only.

Bunco begins Monday June, 9th

Monday 6/9 is the first of weekly Bunco nights! Ladies come join us at EYC to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. Please BYOB and $10.00. We will have prizes and snacks. Meet at 6:30 we start rolling at 7:00!

Mah Jongg begins Wednesday, June 11th

On Wednesday, the EYC kicks off  Mah Jongg at the clubhouse.  Join us at 3:30 and play starts at 4:00.  Bring your 2025 card and a set if you have one. Players of all levels are welcome.

EYC Junior Activities begin Wednesday, June 11th

The EYC holds Junior Activities on Wednesday nights at 6:00-7:30 pm. This week there will be a trip to the Red Putter. A Junior Activities sign-up sheet is located in the clubhouse and will be posted in advance with meeting times and cost, if any.  EYC sailing students and children/guests of members 8 and up can attend the events. They’re back! We are excited to announce that the two EYC dock cams are up and running. Those of you who may not be able to enjoy the views of EYC and Eagle Harbor IRL, can now watch online via dock cams ILT.  In need of instant dose of happiness, watch students launching boats for lessons, weekly series races, weekend regattas and sunsets! EYC’s Learn to Sail Program begins on Monday, June 2nd

Next Monday, the EYC kicks off their learn-to sail program with Session A . We still have spaces available in our 1 week morning  Beginner 1 and Beginner 2  classes and  the Adventure Sailing class has space in both the morning and afternoon.  For this session only, we have a combined Beginner 1 & 2  course for two weeks in afternoon and that class also has space.   To sign-up for this session or any of our other sessions this summer please use this link Enroll Here

Fyr Bal 2025- Aaron R Moore  Pancake Breakfast- June 21, 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Rise and Shine! The EYC’s  Aaron R Moore Pancake Breakfast will kick off Fyr Bal at the Ephraim Village Hall. Have some pancakes and a great time volunteering, click on the link to sign-up Pancake Breakfast Volunteers.  Last year we raised over $2000 towards the Aaron R Moore sailing scholarship fund.  We’re planning ahead for more pancakes, sausages and juice to raise even more!  Do not miss the freshest strawberry and tastiest sausages in the county!

Passing of Virginia “Ginny” Dearborn

In Memoriam: Ginny Dearborn

The EYC is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime member Ginny Dearborn on Thursday, May 22. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends, especially her children, during this difficult time.

Ginny treasured her time in Door County and she especially enjoyed participating in ladies’ bridge mornings and the camaraderie they brought.

Summer 2025 is Here!!

This weekend will kick-off the summer season!

Ahoy, sailors! Summer is finally here, and we’re beyond excited to hoist the sails and hit the water.

Pre-Season Clean-up Saturday, May 24 9:00-12:00 p.m.

Come on down to the dock to help us prepare the clubhouse for opening day.   Please come help get the club ready for summer. Gardening, cleaning and moving boats are just some of the chores to be done. We will have coffee and donuts to keep everyone going.  If you did your own spring cleaning and found an extra mushroom, Danforth or other anchor you can drop them off on Saturday.

Opening Day- Monday, May 26 9:00 a.m.

The club officially opens for the season on Monday, May 26th.  The boats will be on Eagle Harbor as our Session A lessons start on Monday, June 2nd  and the EYC weekly series kicks off on Saturday, June 7th with Flying Scot Races.  Our clubhouse socials start the week of June 9th with Bunco, Bridge and Mah Jongg. Summer 2025 season

We are getting ready for the summer season, are you? In April, our dock and equipment committee members have been getting lifts in the water and preparing the dock for summer.

For many of us, summer isn’t summer unless we are on the dock or the clubhouse at the EYC!

Starting June 7th, we have many activities going on each week including racing on Eagle Harbor in Scots, Optis, 420s, Lasers, and Terras;  playing Bunco, Bridge or Mah Jongg  in the clubhouse; and our opening social on June 14th.  To learn more about all the happenings at the EYC  use this link to our 2025 Calendar

Clean-up day Saturday, May 23

We are looking forward to seeing you at our annual pre-season Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 25th from 9:00 a.m. -12:00p.m.  Come out and help us get things in order for the summer 2025 season.  We will have coffee and donuts for all those intrepid and marvelous volunteers who join us.

Volunteering at the EYC

Join our crew! The EYC relies on volunteers to coordinate and manage our regattas, social events and activities.  We encourage our returning and new members to check out all our listings; flip pancakes, sell merchandise, scoop ice cream, set marks and more!  These events will be happening in the first few weeks of the season and need volunteers: Junior Activity, June 11th, EYC Friday Pop-Up shop June 14th, Opening Social, June 14th, ARM  Fyr Ball  Pancake Breakfast, June 21st.  Of course, we have many opportunities over the summer to support the club so check out all the listings.  Many of our wonderful members are ready to coordinate these events and just need your to help make it a success.  For details on each volunteer opportunity and sign-up, use this link EYC Volunteering

Dry slips available

If you haven’t already booked your dry slip/locker for Summer 2025 now is the time! The EYC has a variety of dry slips available for rent to club members including: Flying Scot or Laser Dry Slip  seasonal ($527.50) , Flying Scot or Laser Dry Slip weekly ($126.80), Optimist (stacked not Dolly) ($105.50). The seasonal slip rental period runs from Monday, May 26, until Friday, September 26.  Reserve your slip here Dry Slip Rental.  For questions please email [email protected]
Slips may not be assigned or sublet.  Additionally, the EYC, at its discretion, may request you to remove your boat from the dock for major regattas, such as the Ephraim Regatta, if your boat is not being utilized for the event.  We appreciate your understanding to ensure the success of our regattas.
