Dear EYC Members,
Most of us are a part of the EYC because we love sailing, being on the water, and Ephraim. This week, we are thankful for the “so much more” that makes up our EYC summers~
the life long friendships that extend beyond the clubhouse and between the generations
the smiles
the pure fun on Wednesday nights
seeing a beginner “get it” for the first time
friendly competition
the many who work the behind the scenes
following a student from beginner to college racer
catching the joy of mastering the bowline or docking
the spirit of sharing tips and strategies among competitors
the confidence built from tackling high winds
burgers on the grill
pulling together when a challenge arises
sunsets on the dock
The list could go on and on. We are thankful that the EYC is a part of our lives and thankful for those generations before us and alongside us who have invested so much time and effort to keep this lovely enterprise going. A special thanks to the parents and grandparents of all our students, the students themselves, and of course, the staff, who are the heartbeat of the lesson program.
Best wishes,
The EYC Education Committee

Afterward, the EYC will be firing up the grills one more time for a complementary picnic lunch.
COLLEGE SAILORS
Saturday afternoon, stop by and watch our EYC sailing students race with guest sailors from UW-Milwaukee, Marquette, and the University of Wisconsin showcase their skills in an afternoon of fun racing on the waters of Eagle Harbor.
EYC RENTERS
Please clean out your rental lockers, laser slips, and kayak slips early Saturday morning.
Hope to see you on the dock!
We hope you are enjoying the last days of our club. Maybe you will get one last sail or swim in this week.
SEPTEMBER 5 CLOSING WORK DAY: All EYC members are requested and encouraged to help close the EYC beginning at 9:00 AM sharp on Saturday, September 5. We will be putting away boats and equipment, organizing the house for winter and removing dock equipment. Most projects should be finished before noon. There are jobs for persons of all ages, abilities, and strengths. The EYC will provide a burger and hot dog lunch for those who help. Please bring your own beverages.
The EYC relies heavily on its member volunteers to open and close the EYC each season. This holds down costs and helps keep the dues affordable. Last year over 50 EYC members helped close the EYC. Please don’t miss out on this Labor Day weekend tradition!
