4th of July Holiday Weekend at the EYC

4th of July Holiday Weekend at the EYC

The Fourth of July weekend is one of our favorite times of the summer at the Ephraim Yacht Club. Whether you’re on the race course, on the golf course, or enjoying an ice cream sundae on the dock, there’s something happening all weekend long. Here’s what’s in store!

Thursday, July 2

EYC Golf Outing at Peninsula Park Golf Course (event at capacity)

Opti & 420 Racing | 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Friday, July 3

Friday Night Racing | 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Friday evenings are always exciting at the EYC, and this week is no exception! RS Teras, 420s, ILCAs (Lasers), and the ILCA Master’s Series will all be out on the water for an evening of competition and fun. Whether you’re racing or watching from shore, it’s one of the best places to spend a summer evening.

Geezergatta | 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

The annual Geezergatta returns alongside the Friday Night 420 Race Series! This beloved tradition celebrates former EYC instructors and longtime sailors with a little friendly rivalry, plenty of laughs, and, of course, bragging rights for another year.

Friday Night Potluck | 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

After racing, gather at the clubhouse for the Friday Night Potluck. Bring a dish to share, catch up with fellow members, and enjoy another summer evening together.

Saturday, July 4

Family Regatta | 10:00 a.m.  – 1:00 p.m.

One of the most anticipated races of the summer returns! The Family Regatta encourages sailors of all ages to team up with parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, or friends for a morning of fun. The following boats sailing in the July 4th Flying Scot Saturday series races will be eligible for Family Regatta trophies: any boat carrying a husband and wife, or a parent and child, or a grandparent and grandchild, or siblings or cousins (any blood relation whatsoever)!  This regatta is open to EYC members and the boat draw for EYC- owned boats will be at 9:00 a.m., the optional skippers meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. and the first warning signal will be at 10:00 a.m.  Family Regatta will be raced as part of the Flying Scot Saturday series, but each also will be scored separately as a regatta. Up to three races will be held.

Saturday Flying Scot Series Races | 10:00 a.m.  – 1:00 p.m.

Flying Scot sailors continue their weekly series with another day of competitive racing. It’s always a great show from the dock and a highlight of the holiday weekend.

Fourth of July Ice Cream Social | 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

End the day with one of the sweetest EYC traditions! Join us for our annual Ice Cream Social.

The club will provide the ice cream—just bring your favorite topping to share for our community sundae bar. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the holiday with your EYC family. VOLUNTEER LINK
