The rescheduled Family Regatta will take place on Saturday, July 23. The Family Regatta will be held in conjunction with the regular Saturday morning Flying Scot series races. You do not have to be eligible for Family Regatta prizes in order to race. To be eligible for Family Regatta prizes, your Flying Scot must carry siblings, a parent and child, or a grandparent and grandchild.
Drawing for EYC-owned boats is at 9:15 AM, optional skippers meeting 9:30 AM, first warning signal 10:00 AM.
Please remember, to skipper an EYC-owned Flying Scot in the Family Regatta, you must have an EYC Skipper’s License. For information on how to obtain an EYC Skipper’s License, see the EYC Water Safety Policy at www.eyc.org/member-info. If you are not sure whether you are on the list of persons with EYC Skipper’s Licenses, contact the EYC at (414) 854- 7107 in advance of the date of the Family Regatta, to allow time for a skills assessment or Skipper’s Test if you are not already on the list.
Also, all persons sailing on EYC-owned boats must wear PFDs at all times regardless of weather.
Push, pull or drag a family member on board your Scot, and race in the Family Regatta! For more information see the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions at www.eyc.org/racing.
Congratulations to all EYC juniors who competed in the Rich Hall Junior Regatta! There was a lot of wind, and the EYC juniors rose to the challenge, repeatedly getting back on the race course even after some capsizes. First place was Teddy Papenthien and Benjamin Therien, second place was Stefan Peterson and Topher Andersen, and third place was Ally Dykman and Will Andersen.
