The EYC is a saddened by the death of Dorie Bush, 90, on September 13th. Dorie and her husband, Guy, both lifetime members of the EYC, made valuable impacts to the club. While Guy was commodore at the EYC, Dorie established the First Mates club. Her generous spirit, kindness and joi de vivre will be missed. The EYC extends their condolences to Dorie’s family, especially her husband guy, her children Lisa, Guy Louis and Eliana and her four grandchildren.

Our last event of the season was a wonderful night for all those that attended. Over 35 people were up for the challenge! 7 cars/teams departed from the EHF to quickly solve questions, take photos and return to EYC with the clock ticking! Thanks to Kathy Pentler and the staff at the EHF for working with Karen Bierman and Debbie Brightbill on the clues and questions for the event.Thank you to Lisa and Kevin Forsman along with Laura O’Rourke for the after party at EYC and a thank to Kim and Jenny Miller for providing delicious popcorn for the evening!

The EYC mourns the passing of William (Bill) Charles Glenn on Friday, August 20th at the age of 82. The EYC extends their condolences to the family of Bill, especially his wonderful wife, Mardi.

We are extremely grateful to Tom Rehberger and the Hidden Acres Farm crew for their generous and gracious hospitality. We are especially appreciative of how well they accommodated the Commodore’s Party planning committee to help make it a very special evening for our EYC members.
Thank you to our amazing crew who came early, stayed late and over performed. Our ship would have stayed in the harbor without the special efforts of: Jenny Miller, Kim Miller, Kathy Pentler, Glenn Pentler, Paul Pillat, Di Taillon, Kathi Whiteside, Sean Amick, Janet Hart, Marsella Fults, Tim Fults, Mary Papenthien, Carol Fiedler, Marta Fonseca, Vivi Sauter, Debbie Brightbill, Doug Hambleton, Bob Richter, Rob Treleven, and Maggie Peterman. We will still be playing Bunco on Monday nights at the clubhouse on Monday, August 16th and Monday, August 23rd. Hang out, have fun, and meet old and new friends. 7:00 p.m. at the upper level in the clubhouse.

Ephraim Regatta Party:
We are super grateful to Bill and Heather Anderson for letting us use Maxwelton Braes for our Ephraim Regatta Party and to Will Anderson for bartending. Additional Thank You’s to the Maxwelton Braes and Thyme Cuisine staff and the EYC volunteers who helped with setup, serving, and clean up and for creating such a successful party.

Welcome to all racers! The Ephraim Regatta will take place this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Come on down to the dock to watch the races and cheer on your favorite crew! No EYC Races will be held on Friday, as we will be welcoming racers for the Regatta.
Merchandise sales will be taking place during Regatta weekend, Friday 9:30-1:30, Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00p.m.-12:00p.m. This will be your last chance to purchase EYC Gear this year.
Please join us this Saturday, August 7th from 6 pm to 9 pm at Maxwelton Braes Lodge for our first ever Ephraim Regatta Party! We will have brats, burgers, hot dogs, sweet corn on the cob, coleslaw and pasta salad. Beer and soda included in the ticket prices. Max’s signature Bay Breeze (pineapple, cranberry, and vodka), Dark N’ Stormy’s, and wine will be available at our outside cash bar. Other drinks available at the inside bar.
Party entrance will be located on the East (left) side of the building The party will go on rain or shine!
This week’s Men’s night will be hosted by Paul Heim at his farm starting at 6:30 p.m. Windridge Farm, 2797 German Rd., Ephraim.

Next Wednesday will be the last Junior Activity of the season. Thanks to Susanna Mortara for coordinating. We couldn’t have done it without her. We hope the kids had a blast and are already thinking about next summer. Thanks to all the parents who came out and helped Susanna and our instructors make Wednesday nights extra special.
The EYC annual membership meeting will take place at the clubhouse. Come and hear updates from the board.
