All sessions are now complete. This was a remarkably successful summer at the EYC. Additional afternoon classes and an extra one-week session enabled our program to reach more students than ever before. Thanks are due to all those who made this summer possible. Special thanks are due to our excellent staff: Matt Zingsheim, Erik Anderson, JP Pillat, Christian Pillat, David Valentine, Allison Chase, Jason Brown, and Abigail Harlan who made this the greatest summer yet. Look out for another safe and fun summer of learning in 2007.

Sessions A & B are complete. It is hard to believe that the summer is half way over. The EYC had successful sessions. Session B had 37 students in the morning and 18 in the afternoon. Our Instructors: Matt Zingsheim, Erik Anderson, JP Pillat, Christian Pillat, David Valentine, Allison Chase, Abigail Harlan, and myself strove to provide a safe and fun learning environment that we can be proud of.

The EYC received final approval from the DNR to go forward with our planned dock extension. This is exciting news and a fitting announcement to add to our 100 year celebration. We are spooling up the fundraising campaign immediately in order to determine when construction will begin.
The extension is 20 feet wide and 100 feet long extending from the current dock end at a slight angle to the South. It will provide a safer and more usable space for sailing lessons and other EYC events. It will allow for dockage on 3 sides which provides for great South wind mooring. The extension will also provide much better protection to our shared Harbor.
We wish to thank Bill Hoag, George Carey, David Sauter and the entire Board of the EYC; Tom Goelz, Jack Zito and the entire ownership at the EYH; Keith Lindstrand, Paul Burton and the entire Village of Ephraim Board and Staff; Mike Hanaway of the DNR and Mike Kahr of Death’s Door Marine. Without a great deal of patience and cooperation this project would not have gotten approved!
Now, lets fund this great addition to the EYC.

The photo gallery got a major update this weekend. You can now view sets of photos, run slideshows and DOWNLOAD whichever ones you want at no charge and in whatever size you like. We are using Flickr which is a Yahoo service. It is very easy to use and flexible. If you have photos to contribute, please burn them to CD or DVD and send them to David Sauter, 255 Traders Point Lane, Green Bay, WI 54301.

In our continuing quest to encourage sailors to join us for regatta we have published the event on some online event sites. Go check them out! Neat tools for finding things to do.

The dock and club weathered the winter well. Clean up day was a success, thanx to all who helped open up, clean up, and plant new flowers. The weather was perfect and the cheer good. We are just about ready to swing into summer. Let us pray that the weather is as nice all summer as we had on Memorial Day weekend!

For a small club we are certainly in a constant state of motion. In order to keep up, we are excited to present the new www.EYC.org. Please feel free to comment and send suggestions. We hope it is more visually pleasing and easier to navigate in order to find the information you need. We plan to post more frequent updates right here in the new “Dockside Blog”. So, even if you can’t be with us on the dock all summer, you can keep pace with the club online.
We have also added a Gallery of photos where you can peruse great pics from the club. We are working on a way to have members either post photos directly or at least send them in for posting. But, keep visiting as we will continue to add photos from last summers 100th Regatta as well as photos form this year as it progresses.
