Kickball, 420 Regatta, and a look ahead to the 4th of July Activities

Junior Activity- Wednesday, June 25

This week’s junior activity will take place at Sister Bay Sports Complex for our annual Kickball game.  Come out and join us for a great evening of friendly competition.  Please bring your favorite snack to share and your child should wear close toed shoes and have their water bottle.  Drop off  (6 p.m.) and Pick up  (7:30 p.m.) is at the Sister Bay sports complex 2383 Maple Dr.

420 Regatta/Rich Hall Junior Regatta- Saturday, June 29 & Sunday, June 30

The EYC will host a 420 regatta and the Rich Hall Junior regatta on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th.  Both regattas are open to all and members can enter the draw for the use of an EYC club boat.  The 420 Regatta is open to all ages and the Rich Hall Junior regatta does require that skippers must be at least 12 and under 18 and that the crew must also be under 18. The Rich Hall Regatta will have hot dogs and ice cream during the awards ceremony. Woody needs a few hands on deck for the awards ceremony Volunteer at Rich Hall

EYC Men’s “Night”- Monday, July 1

Land Ho! Fore!  Men’s night on the dock has pivoted. Look forward the first annual EYC afternoon golf outing at Peninsula Golf Course on July 1st. There will be three foursomes for a scramble. Tee times are reserved for 1:00, 1:10, 1:20. Prizes awarded and drinks at the golf course bar immediately following. Availability is on a first come, first served basis. Ice Cream Social- Thursday, July 4

The EYC’s Ice Cream Social is a cherished July 4th tradition.  Before heading out to watch the fireworks, come to the EYC  at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate the 4th with ice cream sundaes.   We ask that you bring a topping to share  for the Ice Cream Sundae Bar (e.g. syrups, candy, whip cream, nuts). Three flavors of ice cream generously provided by IcecreamSource.com.

Geezer ‘Gatta- Saturday, July 6

For many of us, July 4th wouldn’t be the same if we weren’t on the water in Eagle Harbor.  The Geezer ‘Gatta welcomes all of those formers instructors who have come back for the holiday to participate in our Saturday Flying Scot Series. Boats sailing in the July 6th Flying Scot Saturday series race that is skippered by a former Ephraim Yacht Club instructor will be eligible for Geezer-gatta trophies.  The boat draw for EYC- owned boats will be at 9:00 a.m., the optional skippers meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. and the first warning signal will be at 10:00 a.m.  Up to three races will be held.

EYC Staff Complete Level 2 Training

The EYC hosted a US Sailing  Small Boat Level 2 Instructor certification course on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd.  The course was led by  Allison Jolly (Gold Medalist (1988) and Varsity Sailing Coach for the University of South Florida).  EYC Instructors Hayden Johansen, Penelope Whiteside, Carmen Graham, Henry Tasker, Nathan Taylor, Will Knight and Charlie Dischner successfully completed the training!!
