Membership Rates go up Mar. 1st, Lesson Sign Ups, & More

I know it’s cold outside, but summer is coming. For those needing a to-do list in order to prepare, print this out and get it done:

#1 Renew your EYC membership by the FEB 28th Early Bird Deadline!

Here’s the thing:  Rates go up on March 1st. And if that isn’t motivation enough, if you procrastinate too long, your info doesn’t make it in the coveted EYC directory. (I’ve seen it happen and it isn’t pretty). Early Bird/Regular Membership Dues are Family: $210/$225; Senior: $185/$200; Single: $185/$200; Life: $50/$50; Young Adult: $50/$50; Student: $70/$70.

To renew online, sign in to Club Express at https://eycwi.clubexpress.com to pay with a credit card, or mail a check made out to Ephraim Yacht Club (designating Membership Dues on memo line) to: Jodi Hoyerman, PO Box 582, Ephraim, WI 54211. If you have any questions about membership renewal, please email [email protected] or call Erica Hurlbut at (929) 376-9347.

#2 Sign up for lessons.

Registration for 2019 lessons is open! Head on over to eyc.org and click on “Register for Lessons” under the Education tab. In addition to the standard track of Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Racing, the EYC offers: Adventure sailing — a great option for any junior interested in a less structured sailing experience where sailors of all levels can be in the same class; Opti Racing — for sailors under the age of 15 who have skippered in an Opti race or regatta; Intro to Lasers — those who have passed the Beginner class can continue to improve their single-handed dinghy techniques by moving directly to the Laser; Power Boat Skills and Women’s classes. Sessions are one or two weeks and run from June 17-August 16.
And don’t forget about Private Lessons — a wonderful opportunity to focus on specific skills in a self-paced environment. To schedule a private lesson, contact [email protected]

#3 Use the EYC calendar to plan your summer.

Here’s the link to all the good stuff. Plan ahead so you don’t miss out on all the fun.  (And psst, there’s a Gala event in Ephraim on June 29th that you won’t want to miss.  More on that soon!)

Introducing our new Customer Service Administrator!  (aka “CSA”)

It turns out you likely already know her!  The new CSA is… drum roll please… Erica Hurlbut!  In her own words:
My name is Erica Hurlbut (formerly Erica Heidler), and I am filling the new role of Customer Service Administrator at the EYC this year! I have worked at the EYC for 5 summers as an Instructor and 1 summer as the Director, but I also grew up on the dock taking lessons, going to Junior Activities, and participating in weekly races. To say that EYC feels like home is an understatement; it truly feels more like family. I am looking forward to being back at the EYC in this new role focusing on working with the Membership and Education Chairpersons to ensure members and prospective members have all the assistance they need!
