EYC Summer Employment Applications due Dec 31st
The Ephraim Yacht Club is accepting applications for the following positions for the 2019 summer season:
SENIOR SAILING INSTRUCTOR
The position is part time, 35 – 40 hours per week average. Duties include teaching EYC’s sailing lessons and running races. Other duties will include general clubhouse duties, member assistance, and equipment care and maintenance.
Applicants should be very experienced small boat sailors and small powerboat operators with a solid sailing resume, including instruction and racing. Applicants should minimally be high school graduates by the start of the 2019 summer season.
Senior Instructors are required to have US Sailing Level I instructor certification offered around the country, preferably Level 2, and current CPR /First Aid and SafeSport certificates (these certificates can be done online). Successful applicants will be expected to enroll and successfully complete the Level I course and the CPR / First Aid AED course on their own prior to employment.
JUNIOR SAILING INSTRUCTOR
The position is part time, averaging 25 to 35 hours per week. Duties include assisting and, if qualified, teaching EYC’s sailing lessons. Other duties will include general clubhouse duties, member assistance, equipment care and maintenance, and helping to run races.
Applicants should be experienced small boat sailors and small powerboat operators. Applicants who are EYC members should have received their Skipper’s License, and applicants who have not been through the EYC junior program should have completed an equivalent level of instruction in another sailing program. Applicants should be on course to complete their sophomore year of high school before starting work at the EYC, and must turn 16 years old in 2019.
Junior Instructors are required to have US Sailing Level I instructor certification, and current CPR /First Aid certificates. Successful applicants will be expected to enroll in and successfully complete the Level I course and the CPR / First Aid AED course on their own prior to employment.
DOCK ASSISTANT
The position is part time, 15 – 20 hours per week average. To apply for the dock assistant position, you must be born prior to January 1, 2005, and be knowledgeable about sailing and sailing equipment. Duties include keeping the dock and clubhouse facilities clean and properly equipped, assisting members, helping in proper use of equipment, launching and storing boats and associated equipment. Qualified individuals with small powerboat experience may support races. Dock assistants are required to have current CPR /First Aid certificates prior to employment.
FOR ALL POSITIONS:
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player who can contribute to a fun, safe, and productive environment. Candidates must be available to work from Monday, June 24 through Saturday August 10. Availability to work after August 10 is helpful but not required. Persons under the age of 16 are required to have a WI child labor form, which may be completed at the Wisconsin office located at the Gibraltar High School.
