Take a look at the new mobile and Ipad friendly site at EYC.org. We’re still working out some details (like the fact that an email accidentally went out yesterday), but the site is up and running.
Wait for it… Water Games!
This week’s youth activity is one of the annual favorites! Wednesday night from 6-7:30. Bring a life jacket, swimsuit, and a towel.
EYC Sailors Take the Gold in 100 Miler Race!
John and Deanna Peterson together with a crew of EYC Senior Sailing Instructors sailed their Beneteau First 38 “Charrette” to victory in the 81st running of the Marinette and Menominee Yacht Club’s 100 Miler event this past weekend. In addition to the Petersons, the crew consisted of their son Stefan Peterson, Abby O’Roark, Benji Therien, Susie Voltz and Will Gheorghita.
The race started July 22nd in Menominee in very light winds and circled Green Island, the Fish Creek Bell, Horseshoe Island and Chambers Island before returning to Menominee. “The crew worked tirelessly and we were able to exploit a few key opportunities and that was the difference for us today. After more than 11 hours of racing, all boats finished within 20 minutes of each other and our winning margin of only 81 seconds speaks to the quality of the competition” John stated after the race.
