Session B Beginners is already full in the morning. If you are interested in lessons for your beginner June 29-July 8, there are still spaces available in the afternoon. There are also spaces available in the Optimist Clinic, July 9th & 10th, which has a Beginner section in the mornings and Intermediates in the afternoons. This clinic will be a great introduction to sailing. You can also help your junior sailor prepare for the Optimist Regatta on July 11 & 12 by enrolling him or her in the Opti Clinic. More details at eyc.org/lessons.
If you don’t find a class that fits your needs or schedule, consider taking private lessons from the EYC’s qualified staff. Private lessons are flexible and designed to address your specific interests from beginner to advanced racing. Go to http://ephraimyc.wpengine.com/private-sailing-lessons/ for pricing, or call Brian Ritter at the club at (920) 854-7107 to schedule your lessons.
June 13th EYC Flying Scot Fleet tuning clinic, featuring our own Ryan Malmgren, of MAD Sails.
Note: you do not need to own a Flying Scot to benefit from this session – the session is open to all ages / levels of experience and you only need to be an EYC member to attend.
In addition to addressing tuning, Ryan and his wife, Stacey Rieu, are going to show some spinnaker tricks, weight placement, boat handling hints, etc.
The clinic is targeted for noon, but will begin as quickly as practicable after the boats are on the dock after the first FS race of the season. We have a number of confirmed boats racing (some as a warm-up for the Flying Scot NAC), so we hope for some good weather. During the races, Ryan and Stacey will be observing from their whaler, then will provide feedback on the water / during the clinic.
Given the timing / logistics, you are welcome to brown-bag your own lunch. If there are any volunteers who may be interested in collecting money and arranging a group lunch (for this or any other FS Fleet event), please contact Jennifer Ikeda @ [email protected].
