EYC Hours / Closing Work Day August 31 / Lost and Found
Although the weather remains glorious and summery, the season has wound down and the EYC’s staff are off to their various schools and colleges. As a result:
BOATS / OPEN HOURS / BRIDGE. EYC-owned sailboats will be available for member use through Thursday, August 22. The EYC clubhouse will be open, and the EYC will be staffed, from 9:00 AM noon and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM through Saturday, August 24. After that date the clubhouse will be closed and locked, but bridge players can still use the upstairs front room through September 24, and members can still use the pier.
AUGUST 31 CLOSING WORK DAY. All EYC members are requested and encouraged to help close the EYC beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 31. We will be putting away boats and dock equipment. Most projects should be finished before noon. There are jobs for persons of all ages, abilities, and strengths. The EYC will provide a burger and hot dog lunch for those who help. BYO chips and beverages. The picnic will also feature an awards ceremony for the EYC’s 2013 series races.
The EYC relies heavily on its member volunteers to open and close the EYC each season, which helps hold down dues and makes the EYC accessible for all. Last year over 50 EYC members — out of approximately 1000 people who are members — helped close the EYC. Please help us exceed that number this year!
LOST AND FOUND. Noon on August 31 is also the deadline for claiming your item(s) from the EYC’s Lost and Found. Items left in the Lost and Found after that time will be donated to a local charity. Persons who left serving dishes at the Commodore’s Party can find them upstairs at the EYC; they will be included in the donation to the local charity after noon on August 31.
