Get Ready for the ILCA District 20 Championship at EYC!

The ILCA District 20 Championship is just around the corner on July 18–19, and we’re excited to welcome sailors from across Wisconsin and Illinois for one of the biggest racing weekends of the summer.

With 50+ boats expected across the ILCA 7, ILCA 6, and ILCA 4 fleets, spectators can expect exciting racing right off the EYC waterfront, while competitors will enjoy a full weekend of racing, coaching, and camaraderie.

Train with International Sailor & Coach Tarkan Bolat

Want to sharpen your racing skills before the championship? Arrive early and join Tarkan Bolat for a full-day Race Clinic on Friday, July 17.

Originally from Romania, Tarkan has competed at the Sailing World Championships, won multiple national and Europacup titles, and has coached sailors in ILCA, 49er, C420, and J/105 fleets. He has worked extensively with youth sailors at the Chicago Yacht Club and is known for helping sailors improve their boat handling, tactics, starts, and overall race strategy.

Tarkan will also offer limited on-the-water coaching during the regatta on Saturday and Sunday, giving a small group of sailors personalized feedback throughout the racing weekend.

Whether you’re preparing for Districts or simply looking to become a smarter, faster racer, this is an outstanding opportunity to learn from one of the sport’s top coaches.

Family Fiesta

Thursday, July 16 | 7:00–8:30 p.m.

One of EYC’s favorite family traditions is back!

Bring the whole family down to the dock for an evening of fun, food, and summer memories. Members of all ages are invited to enjoy a relaxed evening by the water with food available for purchase, refreshments provided by EYC, and activities everyone can enjoy.

Look forward to:

Food available for purchase
Margaritas, cervezas, lemonade, and other refreshments
Swimming and watching the sunset
A piñata, limbo, and games for kids—and kids at heart

It’s the perfect chance to connect with friends, meet new members, and enjoy one of the best evenings of the summer.

Junior Activities: Kickball Night!

Kickball Night is back, and it’s always a summer favorite! We are hoping the rain will hold off!

Our instructors will organize teams, lead the games, and make sure everyone has a fun evening full of teamwork, friendly competition, and lots of laughs.
