A Successful Fyr Bal Weekend at the EYC

EYC PANCAKE BREAKFAST SETS RECORD – THANK YOU!

The EYC’s third annual Fyr Bal Pancake Breakfast was a great success and raised nearly $1458 for the EYC, a record amount, over 25% higher than 2015. Over 200 EYC members, family and friends attended at the Ephraim Village Hall on June 18. We served buttermilk pancakes with butter and syrup, excellent Marchant’s fresh pork breakfast links, coffee and O.J. Thanks to all EYC members, family and friends who attended!

Thanks to the following organizations: the Ephraim Business Council for enabling the EYC to benefit from this event for the third year in a row; Marchant’s Meats in Sturgeon Bay for providing a discount on the sausage; and the Piggly Wiggly for opening early at 7:00 AM and donating two pounds of decaf coffee which we forgot to buy the day before.

Thanks also to Erica Heidler and her helpful EYC staff who delivered a clean, well-lighted grill so we could cook sausages outdoors, for delivering one of the EYC’s new Optimist dinghies for display, and for picking it all up and taking it back to the EYC the same day.

And thanks to the following persons who worked a volunteer shift at the event or otherwise helped to make this event possible (in no particular order): event chair Jay Lott, event vice chair Susie Samson, apparel salesperson Betty Chomeau, Jenny Miller, Susie Gebhardt, Kim Miller, Dick Bierman, Jane Reyerson, Sophie Tasker, Karen Bierman, Mary Ann McKoane, Margaret Graham, Marsella Fults, Stacey Rieu, Bill Hoag, Anne Abbott, Sally Schoendorf, Dennis Miller, Bob Lindquist, Skip Tasker, Sibylle Tasker, Melanie Tasker, Henry Tasker, Deanna Peterson, Kathy Miller, Ann Lindquist, Judy Harmon, Peggy Lott and Jodi Hoyerman.

EYC OPEN HOUSE

The Membership Committee held an Open House with light refreshments on Saturday.  Event coordinators Jodi Hoyerman and Jeanne Papenthein greeted new members and potential members for several hours. Thank you to the EYC members who volunteered to assist with tours and answer questions:  Marscella Fults, Sally Schoendorf, Joel Dykman, Rick Hoyerman, Skip and Debby Heidler, Deb and Marv Ritter, and Senior Instructor Carrie Ritter.  Time and time again, people commented on the welcoming atmosphere at our club.

FYR BAL COOKOUT

How fortunate we were for a beautiful warm evening this past Saturday!  The O’Rourkes and Latrielle families once again hosted a fabulous party.  Delicious food and conversation were enjoyed by many.  Thanks to all who pitched in to set up, brought a dish to share, and cleaned up.  The evening bonfires followed by spectacular fireworks were the perfect summer kick-off!
