This week at the EYC

The EYC is open for the 2016 Season!

Thank you to everyone who helped with Saturday’s Spring Cleanup!  We had a great turnout and the weather cooperated!  Thanks to the great group of volunteers we finished at noon and then enjoyed the first cookout of the year.  We accomplished everything we wanted to do and enjoyed getting reacquainted with friends and meeting some new members.

Thanks to Susie Samson for the coffee and pastries, and to Sue Lewis and Jennifer Ikeda for the brownies and chocolate chip bars. Also, thanks to Bob and Barb Ziegler for their expert work on the grill. A special thanks to Scott Roberts and Dick Bierman who both arrived before 8am and were among the last to leave.  Also, welcome to new members Scott Roberts and Marc and Kris Dubick!

Club Races Begin June 11

EYC’s club races begin next Saturday, June 11. There are a number of updates for 2016, so please click on the link to the racing page, where you can access the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions for club races and all of our regattas. For questions, please contact [email protected].

Friendly Reminder about EYC’s Swimming Policy

Memorial Day weekend treated those in Door County to some warm weather – maybe this bodes well for early June.  Parents should supervise their children at all times when their children are swimming at the EYC, since it is not part of staff duties to supervise or monitor swimming — except in those rare instances when swimming takes place during sailing lessons.  Please see follow this link for more information.

Help Support EYC – Fyr Bal Pancake Breakfast at Ephraim Town Hall

Mark your calendar now for the Fyr Bal Pancake Breakfast, June 18 beginning at 7:30 AM at the Ephraim Village Hall. All-you-can-eat pancakes, fresh Marchant’s pork sausage, juice and coffee. A great way to start off your Fyr Bal Saturday, and it benefits the EYC! We still need a few more volunteers to help run this event. If you can help, please contact event chair Jay Lott [email protected]

Club Staffing

The club officially opened on Tuesday, May 31, however, full-time staff will not be available prior to Saturday, June 11th. In the interim, if you have specific needs, please contact Erica Heidler at [email protected].

Door County Magazine has a story on the EYC

Pick up a copy of the summer issue and flip to page 27 to see the great piece on our club, lessons, the sailing fleet and more. For those of you that aren’t in Door County, we’ll forward the link when the online version is available.
