This week at the EYC

Lots of updates this week, so please read through to the end!

Helping out at the EYC has become even easier Unknown

This year, EYC is moving into the 21st century by using a web based tool called SignUp Genius which makes it a snap for you to sign up for  your favorite event or activity.

At EYC, the summer is jam packed with activities from morning to night and every single event runs on the volunteer efforts of EYC members.  SignUp Genius will make it so easy for you to help out the volunteer coordinator by allowing you to sign up for specific dates, times, length of service and to see other EYC members who have signed up.

You never have to worry about forgetting what you signed up for because SignUp Genius will remind you before the event.  If you signed up and something better comes up, don’t despair, you can delete your name or swap with another volunteer.

See- it’s absolutely genius!  Let’s take the stress out of volunteering and put the fun into volunteering at EYC.

Get started and click on the direct link below to view all of EYC’s signup sheets.  Please email your SignUp Genius Coordinator Jeanne Papenthien with updates, changes or additions to the signup sheets- [email protected]  http://www.signupgenius.com/index.cfm?go=c.SignUpSearch&eid=08C0CCD7FFCFF66C&cs=09CBBADF8FBE8B627B7964715BC09BBD

Education Notes:

There are several newer classes offered this year, especially for those students in the Beginner/Intermediate skill levels-Intro to Lasers, Beginner Full Day and Opti Racing.  If you have any questions as to how these classes fit into the curriculum or for which classes your student would be eligible, please feel free to contact Liz Gheorghita at [email protected].  Additionally, members of the Education Committee will be at the Club Opening this Saturday and would be happy to answer any questions.

Private lessons are a great way to brush up for a summer on the water after a long winter.  You can take one lesson to focus on one particular skill, or a week or more at any of the skill levels offered at the EYC, Beginner through Racing.  The schedule is flexible and lessons can be booked directly with Erica Heidler, Club Director, at (920) 854-7107.  More information and pricing can be found at http://ephraimyc.wpengine.com/private-sailing-lessons/.

Lasers! Do you have a student who is considering enrolling in the Laser Clinic on July 16 & 17?  We have a limited number of club owned Lasers that are available on a first come, first served basis.  After that, students will need to provide their own (or borrowed) boat to participate.  We will be opening enrollment to students outside the EYC in the next few weeks.

Upcoming Events:

Spring Clean up:  Sat May 28th.  9-noon with burgers at noon.

All EYC members are encouraged to come down to the club at 9:00am on Saturday, May 28th to help open the club.  We will be organizing and cleaning the clubhouse, docks and boats for the 2016 season.  We anticipate being finished by Noon.  There are jobs for all ages and abilities.  Afterward, the EYC will fire up the grills for a complimentary picnic lunch.  Please come and join in the fun!  We need your help!

Fyr Bal Pancake Breakfast and EYC Open House:  Saturday June 18!

If you can help out for a few hours as a server, cook’s helper, door person, or otherwise, please contact event chair Jay Lott  [email protected].
