This Week at the EYC August 2-8

After another successful Ephraim Regatta, the EYC is on a roll into the final weeks of the season!  In addition to the normal schedule of racing, lessons, bridge, movie night and Bunco, here is what is happening at the EYC this week:

All EYC members are invited to the Commodore’s Party, Saturday, August 7 at 6:00 PM at the Sister Bay Waterfront Park.  Dress is summer casual.  Wine and soft drinks are included in your admission of $15.00.  Children age 8 and under are $5.00.  The party is potluck, so please bring an appetizer to share.  The Commodore’s Party is for EYC members only, so your 2010 dues must be fully paid in order for you to be admitted to this party.  This party is the highlight of the EYC summer social season.  See you there!

The EYC’s annual meeting of its members will be Saturday, August 7 at 9:00 AM at the EYC.  Four board of directors slots are open for election for three year terms.  Members are encouraged and requested to attend this meeting, both to share your views about the EYC and because we need a quorum!

EYC Explorers (ages 4-8) will head to Sister Bay on Thursday, August 5.   Meet at the Sister Bay playground at 9:30 AM.  Bring your swimsuit and beach bucket to play at the beach afterward. Parents or grandparents, please attend with your child.  The event will end around 11:00 AM.  Questions?  Call Duska Pearson (920) 854-9988

The final Teen Activity for 2010 will consist of two events on Thursday, August 5.  All EYC teens who have completed 7th grade are welcome to participate.  Teens are welcome to come to either or both.

EYC Teens are invited to volunteer at the Scandia Village Ice Cream Social, helping serve ice cream and socializing with the guests.  If possible, please bring a dozen homemade cookies.  Drop off is at 1:45 PM at Scandia Village’s Main Entrance, just past Bargains Unlimited off Highway 57 in Sister Bay.  Pick up is at 3:00 PM.  There is no cost for this event.

The Grand Finale for the Teen Activities will be a dinner cruise on two sailing yachts owned by EYC members on Thursday, August 5.  Hosts are John and Deanna Peterson and Keith and Christine Bridenhagen.  The boats will sail to Horseshoe Island, Little Sister Bay, or the Sister Islands, anchor, swim and have dinner.  Be at the Yacht Works marina in Sister Bay no later than 3:45 pm for a prompt departure at 4:00 pm.  Pick up will be close to 8:00 pm at the same place.  Wear closed toe shoes and a PFD.  To swim, bring a swimsuit and towel.  Bring your own 20 oz. drink and snacks to share.  Hot dogs and dessert will be provided.  There is no cost for this event.  Sign up in advance at the EYC.
