Donors to the Ephraim Yacht Club can choose to earmark their donations in several ways. All donations help the EYC hold down membership dues and make sailing lessons and sailboat racing more accessible to all.
1. You can donate to the EYC’s general fund. Donations which are not otherwised earmarked automatically go here. General funds help support EYC operations and capital expenses.
2. You can donate to the Aaron R. Moore Sailing Scholarship Fund. The fund memorializes Aaron R. Moore, who passed away in 2008 and was a lifelong sailor and an enthusiastic sailing instructor. The fund was established in 2012 by the Moore family. This fund pays for sailing lesson scholarships for junior sailors who are year-round residents of Door County and who otherwise would not be able to afford EYC sailing lessons.
3. You can donate to the Red Hoag Sailing Scholarship Fund. The fund memorializes Red Hoag, the father of EYC member Bill Hoag, and was established by the Hoag family in 2007. This fund pays for sailing lesson scholarships for junior sailors who are year-round residents of Door County and who otherwise would not be able to afford EYC sailing lessons.
4. You can donate to the Larry Lewis Memorial Fund. The fund memorializes Larry Lewis, former EYC Commodore and sailing instructor, and was established by various donors in 2012. This fund pays for prizes for enthusiastic junior lesson participants (the “Larry Lewis Memorial Happy Camper Award”) and also funds other expenses related to the EYC’s mission of sailing education and promoting amateur sailboat racing.
5. You can specify that your donation is “in memoriam” of any person you wish.
If you wish to make a donation earmarked other than as described above, the EYC may be able to accomodate your request. Contact [email protected]
