The weather will not stop the intrepid sailors and members of the EYC!      Read on to learn about 3 EYC activities, 4 Regattas and 1 Education Committee update.

Calling all First Mates (aka “the ladies”) Coffee Morning July 12th

The 2nd  First Mates Mates Coffee on Monday, July 12  at 9 AM at the EYC Clubhouse.  Bring your coffee, chat with friends and learn the 2nd half of the summer events  and volunteer opportunities.

EYC’s First Mates Potluck Wednesday, July 14th

*Who*  All the ladies, adults only
*When* Wednesday, July 14, 6pm (note: change of date from printed calendar)
*Where*  At EYC, on the dock!
*What* to bring Bring a dish to share.  Your choice and should serve at least 8-10 folks.
Can be a heavy appetizer, salad/side, main dish, or dessert.
*BYOB*  Please bring any beverage of your choice.  Water is provided. 

Men’s Night on the dock- July 17th

Not to be out done, the guys at the club also have a social event for the summer.   Save the date for next Friday, July 17th.     Details in next week’s email.

Racing and Regattas Report-Richie Hall Jr Regatta this weekend!

Welcome Back Session C Sailors: July 5-16th, Welcome Session C2 Sailors: July 12th-16th  

Session C2 Adventure Sailors and Powerboat Skills. Want to learn a new skill or have some fun? There is availability in both adventure sailing and  powerboat skills classes the week of July 12-16th.  To register,  please sign up HERE.

Parents of children enrolled in Session C2, please check your  emails for information from the EYC education committee for  everything you need to know for your week of sailing.  

Parents of Beginner Sailors: Is your child ready to “level up”? There are a few slots open up in the  Advanced Opti class for Session D (July 19-30). This class is an  excellent way for your child to implement/refine the skills learned in Beginner, improve their sailing knowledge and help your student gain confidence so they can feel ready to race: 

  • The Optimist Boat is raced regionally, nationally, and internationally by sailors through age 15
  • The class will cover starts, upwind and downwind strategy, and the racing rules of sailing
  • No textbook required
