April EYC News

Summer camps and lesson sign ups are underway.

Back by popular demand are the adventure sailing camps and power boating skills as well as sailing lessons for all levels (beginning to racing). As with last year, some sessions fill quickly so you’ll want to secure your spots now.  And since our current members are the best outreach to new families, please spread the word and encourage others to sign up as well.  Lessons and camps are open to all.

Congratulations!

The EYC’s Mike Faugust and Jennifer Ikeda Faugust captured second place in the 24-boat Championship Division of the highly competitive Flying Scot Midwinter Championship held April 4-7, 2016 at St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club in Panama City, Florida.  This is quite an achievement.  (First place went to Zeke Horowitz, a sailing professional for North Sails.)

Another Great Success at the Fourth Annual EYC Aaron R. Moore Sailing Scholarship Fundraiser!

Thanks to all who contributed to an amazing event. We recognize the time, distance, generosity, and commitment represented by your attendance and generous donations. We were also overjoyed to see Anne Crowe who made the longest journey to be with us!

Special thanks to Door County merchants, EYC members, family and friends who donated nearly $12,000 in silent auction items. Those included EYC members Ron Litterst for his beautiful painting, “Ephraim Shore”, Di Taillon for a two night stay at the beautiful Hillside Inn, Jim and Kay Nelson for the Mark Heusso limited edition prints, Gwen and Captain Ches Porter for the sailing adventure, Scott Roberts, for the stunning photos, and a Creatology craft basket donated by our young member, Olivia Annoye. Because of the generosity of all who supported this event in so many ways, we will be able to continue to provide sailing scholarships to those in our beloved Door County community. We hope to see you all on the EYC dock soon! With gratitude,

Rob, Sherry, Adam and Barb Moore

And and editor’s note to the Moore’s:  Thank YOU! The EYC is so lucky to have you!
