EYC Pre-Season Announcements.

With Memorial Day Weekend just 7 days away, its time to start thinking about your summer at EYC!! 4 important announcements for EYC Members:
CLUB SERIES RACING

We are looking forward to the start of EYC club series racing in just a month! New in 2015: Lasers will race on Tuesday evenings (at the same time as Optimists, with a separate course) and on Saturday afternoons, but not on Sunday afternoons. This change is NOT reflected in the EYC’s annual Schedule printed in your Membership Directory.
As in 2014, Optimists will race on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday mornings. 420s will race on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Flying Scots will race on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings. Racing begins Saturday, June 13th.

MAY 23RD- SPRING CLEAN UP/CLUBHOUSE OPENING- 9:00 am

May 23 Opening WORK DAY. All EYC members are requested and encouraged to help open the EYC beginning at 9:00 AM sharp on Saturday, May 23. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and to meet new friends! Among other things we will be removing boats and equipment from winter storage, installing ladders and dock boxes, and cleaning the house and dock. Most projects should be finished before noon. There are jobs for people of all ages, ability, and strength. Join us for Burgers and Brats after as our thank you for your help.

The EYC relies heavily on its member volunteers to open and close the EYC each season, which helps hold down dues and makes the EYC accessible for all. Last year over 50 EYC members helped open the EYC. Please help us exceed that number this year!

EYC FYR BAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST SATURDAY JUNE 20- VOLUNTEER PLEASE

Please attend the Fyr Bal Pancake Breakfast on June 20 between 7:30 and 10:30 AM at the Ephraim Village Hall, to benefit the EYC! Bring your friends too! The menu will feature the traditional all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. The Pancake Breakfast is a great way to start your Fyr Bal day in the company of friends and family at a scenic and central location.

We need volunteers to help run the Pancake Breakfast! If you can help out for a few hours as a server, cook’s helper, door person, or otherwise, please contact event chair Jay Lott- [email protected]. Volunteers get a free breakfast!

AARON R MOORE SCHOLARSHIP GALA UPDATE:  Thanks again to the Moore Family for their work on the amazing Gala on April 29th.  Together with associated donations, the 2015 Aaron R Moore Gala netted over $15,000 for EYC Scholarships.  These funds will pay for current scholarships, and will help build the endowment to pay for future scholarships.

The third annual Aaron R. Moore Sailing Scholarship Fundraiser was a huge success! EYC members, guests, friends, and supporters gathered at the Lake Forest Club in Lake Forest on April 25 for an evening of South Pacific inspired fun. Dressed in festive Hawaiian attire, partiers enjoyed an evening of South Pacific music and drumming, an amazing array of Polynesian food, Pina Coladas, Mai Tai’s and over 75 auction and raffle items to bid on. The evening was topped off by a 45 min. floor- show of authentically costumed dancers performing dances from Hawaii, Polynesia and Samoa. Guests were able to bid on over 75 silent auction and raffle items.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU to all who attended, all who bid on the silent auction, bought raffle tickets, all who helped and all who donated! This event would not have been possible without you!
