This week at the EYC June 29 – July 7

Holy summer, Batman!  July is already upon us!  The EYC has a full schedule of sailing, boating and social events, in addition to the usual weekly events like sailing lessons, series races, junior activities, three varieties of bridge, bunco, swimming from the pier, informal cookouts, and watching sunsets.

The FAMILY REGATTA will be sailed in Flying Scots on the morning of Saturday, June 29.  The first race begins at 10:00 AM.  Like all EYC regattas, the Family Regatta is open to all skippers, not just EYC members.   There is no entry fee.  The Family Regatta is sailed as part of the EYC’s regular Saturday morning Flying Scot series but is scored separately.  To be eligible for Family Regatta prizes, a boat must carry a husband and wife, or a parent and child, or a grandparent and grandchild, or siblings.   You can race on Saturday morning, June 29, even if your boat is not eligible for Family Regatta prizes.  For complete information about the Family Regatta, see the EYC’s 2013 Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions: Club Series Races, Fyr Bal Regatta, Family Regatta, Women’s Regatta located at www.eyc.org/racing

The EYC needs a few household items.  Please help if you can.  We need PINT ICE CREAM CONTAINERS, cardboard (not plastic), without their lids.  We use these to mix resins for boat repairs.  We need GALLON PLASTIC JUGS, with their caps.  The best are bleach bottles and milk bottles.  We use these to make scoop bailers.  In each case please make sure you thoroughly rinse and clean these items before delivering them to the EYC.  Thanks!
