This Week at the EYC May 25 – June 2

It’s the start of another busy season at the EYC!  Here’s what’s happening this week:

At 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, all EYC members are requested and encouraged to HELP OPEN THE EYC.  There will be plenty of projects — including opening and cleaning the clubhouse, rigging boats and other gear, and setting up the pier — for members of all ages, abilities and strengths.  Work is expected to last until around lunchtime, when everyone can catch up with friends after a long off-season.  The EYC will provide burgers and brats for those who work.  BYO side dishes and beverages.  A few of us will be there before 9:00 AM, so feel free to show up earlier if you wish.

On Sunday, May 26, there will be a CRUISING RENDEZVOUS AND RAFT-UP PICNIC at either Horseshoe Island or Nicolet Bay, depending on the weather.  All EYC members are encouraged to participate in powerboats or sailboats, large or small.  BYO beverages and picnic dinner, and if you have a grill on your boat we encourage you to share.  Bring plenty of fenders.  The raft-up begins at 5:00 PM.

DRY SLIPS AND LOCKERS: Members who have rented EYC dry slips can bring their boats to their slips any time after 1:00 PM on May 25.  Members who have lockers can begin using their lockers on May 25.

STAFFING:  Beginning on Sunday, May 26, the EYC will be open and staffed 7 days per week from 9:00 AM to noon and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  However, on Memorial Day, May 27, no staff will be on duty and the clubhouse will be locked.

SAILING:  From May 25 through June 2, although the clubhouse and pier will be available for member use, no EYC-owned sailboats will be available for member use.  We’re still busy putting things together!

The EYC is looking for a volunteer to pick up a donated trailer in Hartford, WI and tow it to the EYC.  Hartford is a suburb of Milwaukee.  The trailer takes a 1 7/8″ ball.  It is relatively light and could be towed by almost any vehicle equipped for towing.  If you can help, please contact [email protected]

Remember the EYC’s Dinner with Gary Jobson on July 13.  Advance reservations are required.  Seats are limited — more than half the seats are already gone!

Don’t forget the bargains in the EYC’s classified advertising page: http://ephraimyc.wpengine.com/classified-advertising/  Lots of great new stuff for sale including a Sunfish, 2 outboard motors, a couple of boat lifts, and more!
