This Week at the EYC July 26-August 1

EYC Juniors and Teens are invited to a Barn Party at Pillat’s house on Wednesday, July 28.  The party will include snacks and soft drinks but not dinner.  There will be music, volleyball and other games.  All EYC juniors age 7 and up and teens are invited.  Sign up on the EYC bulletin board.  Meet at the EYC at 5:30 PM.  Parents: volunteers are needed to drive from the EYC to the Pillats and back; sign up on the EYC bulletin board.  Parents please pick up your children at the EYC at 8:15 PM.  There is no cost for this event.  Questions?  Contact event chair Laura O’Rourke (312) 953-8320

The Women’s Regatta is Wednesday, July 28.   Sign up deadline for the lottery to use an EYC-owned boat is noon on Tuesday July 27.  For more info see www.eyc.org/2010/07/womens-regatta-wednesday-july-28

EYC members who are qualified to use an EYC Flying Scot can participate in a lottery to skipper an EYC Flying Scot in the Ephraim Regatta.  To enter, sign up on the sign-up sheet on the EYC bulletin board or send an e-mail to EYC Director Alex Zalar [email protected]   Caption your e-mail “Ephraim Regatta Boat Lottery Entry” and include your name.  Deadline for lottery entries is 5:00 PM on Wednesday, July 28, and the drawing will take place immediately at that time at the EYC.  Members who draw one of the six EYC Flying Scots in the lottery are expected to enter and compete in the Regatta as skipper of that boat.

Flying Junior and Laser races which were scheduled for Friday, July 30 have been moved to Thursday, July 29.  Lottery for EYC-owned boats 5:15 PM; skippers meeting 5:30 PM; first race 6:00 PM.

So far four of the six EYC Lasers will be named…there is still time to bid to name one of the EYC Lasers.  What a great gift for a spouse, parent or grandparent!  Starting bid is only $100 – although every bid received so far has been over $200!  A big thanks to our generous members for participating in this EYC fundraiser.  The bid deadline has been extended by one day to August 7.  For more information see www.eyc.org/2010/07/help-name-the-eycs-lasers
